Results 13/3/2013 – Stacey Kemp and David King kick off the World Figure Skating Championships

With only a year to go until the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, winter sports specialists all over the world are getting in all the practice they can get before the big event. Britain’s snow and ice athletes are no exception, especially with the focus increasingly shifting to who (if anyone) can bag a medal in Russia. Judging by Stacey Kemp and David King’s performance in the pairs’ short program, it won’t be them, but there’s still three days of action remaining.

England’s female football team lifted the Cyprus Cup, with Scotland left to pick up fifth place and Northern Ireland languishing in last place after a penalty shootout. Leicester Riders exacted their revenge on the One Health Sharks Sheffield after their BBL Trophy loss with a convincing 85-63 win in the league and Sprinter Sacre was a highlight of the second day of racing at the Cheltenham Festival. There was also a surprise second place in the Europa Cup moguls for Leonie Schofield.
